Art TherapistServing the needs of Garfield Heights and the Southeast communities of Cuyahoga County, Marymount Hospital is an acute care, faith-based hospital. As a part of our team, you will build a rewarding, lifelong career in a diverse and welcoming environment.As an Art Therapist, you will use art media, images and the creative process to assist patients with social, psychological and physical challenges. In this role, you will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to provide a comprehensive plan of care and apply your expertise to help patients develop coping skills, express themselves in alternative ways, increase socialization, enhance sensorimotor coordination and problem-solving abilities, reduce problematic behaviors and improve treatment compliance.A caregiver in this role works 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. 1 weekend per month is required (Saturday and Sunday).A caregiver who excels in this role will:Use art media, images and the creative art process to assist patients with social, psychological and physical difficulties.Work with the interdisciplinary team to provide a comprehensive plan of care for the patient.Use expertise to assist patients in a variety of areas.Provide group and individual art therapy sessions to patients on various units within the main campus hospital.Evaluate patient's treatment needs, abilities and resources.Maintain confidentiality of patients, staff and hospital respecting patients' rights and dignity.Complete routine paperwork within prescribed time frames and accurately document all pertinent and meaningful observations and information on appropriate forms.Attend and participate in designated plans for care team meetings concerning the patient and family, as appropriate.Adhere to general expectations for all employees in order that the program functions in an effective manner to meet the treatment needs of the patient.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Master's Degree in Art Therapy from a College or University Program accredited by the American Art Therapy Association (AATA)Licensed Professional Art Therapist (LPAT) through the Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist BoardRegistered Art Therapist with Board Certification (ATR-BC) through the Art Therapy Credentials Board with LPAT obtained within the first 90 days of hireMaintain de-escalation training, WELLE certification obtained within the first 90 days of hireMaintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification via American Heart Association certification training obtained within the first 90 days of hireOne year of experience in Art Therapy services in an inpatient hospital settingConsideration will be made for time spent in practicumPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Niche art, music, OT experiencePersonal Protective Equipment:Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.The policy of Cleveland Clinic Health System and its system hospitals (Cleveland Clinic Health System) is to provide equal opportunity to all of our caregivers and applicants for employment in our drug free environment.
